Ivans Index August 2022 Results Released

Year-over-year average premium renewal rates for major commercial lines of business remain up, while month-over-month rates are variable
UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. – September 8, 2022 - Ivans® today announced the August 2022 results of the Ivans Index™, the insurance industry’s premium renewal rate index. Year over year, all lines of business, except Workers’ Compensation, experienced an increase in average premium renewal rate. BOP and Commercial Property remain the highest premium renewal rate increases year over year. Month over month, Commercial Auto, BOP, General Liability and Workers’ Compensation saw increases in premium renewal rate change, while Commercial Property and Umbrella experienced decreases.
Premium renewal rate change by line of business for August 2022 highlights include:
- Commercial Auto: 4.87%, up from 4.76% last month.
- BOP: 6.44%, up from 6.28% at the end of July.
- General Liability: 4.98%, up from 4.65% the month prior.
- Commercial Property: 6.57%, down from 6.62% in July.
- Umbrella: 4.9%, down from 5.49% the month prior.
- Workers’ Compensation: -0.97%, up from -1.24% last month.
