This transaction will bring together Applied Systems, a leading global provider of insurance software, with Riskhandler, a leading insurance solution for commercial lines and niche product distribution, to create a more valuable and digital distribution experience at each stage of the insurance lifecycle, benefitting insurers, MGAs, brokers, and insurance customers.   

Q: Why is this happening? 

A: The ROI market has lacked advanced technological innovation and is at an inflection point where distribution and diversification of products, particularly in commercial lines and niche personal lines, is requiring alternate channels to bring products to market more quickly and at a low cost. Additionally, US and UK brokers and insurers are entering into the European markets to expand their global footprint and looking for known technology partners that can support all their business regions and divisions. 

Applied will invest behind Riskhandler’s industry-leading solution to bring the value of its highly configurable platform to a broader subset of the market at speed and scale. Riskhandler’s current integrations with Applied’s products will be strengthened, improving the experience for MGAs, brokers and insurers alike. Stronger integrations will provide our broader customer base more flexibility and ease-of-use in designing and bringing products to market at speed that create additional profitability across the insurance value chain. 

The addition of Riskhandler will enable Applied to provide the most robust connected and automated distribution technologies for both personal and commercial lines to deliver new value at each stage of the policy lifecycle.
